My name is Willow Phoebe. I am a Takara Blythe doll and my mummy's latest obsession. Mummy loves crafting and Blythe dolls open a whole new world of crafting and customisation for her. It all started when her friend Tamar got her first Blythe from Japan "Poppy", and introduced us to the wonderful world of Bythes. To understand Blythes go ahead and google them. They are an eye changing doll based from a design in the 1970s that never caught on, with big heads and huge eyes. They now have a cult following, people love to customise them and there are flickr and facebook groups devoted to them. They have now become a collector's item. Mummy and her friend's Tamar, Ngaire, Mel and Jill now spend their days discussing their dollies, clothes, furniture and customisation. So do you wanna meet other Blythes? here they are: Poppy, Elliot, Ruby and Gigi.
So how did i come to join the Kneller family? My mummy saw how happy the Bostock family was to have their new member "Poppy" and decided that they would love to have a Blythe join their family too. She began googling websites and scouring Ebay in search of a suitable girl to adopt. She fell in love with a Friendly Freckles Blythe on ebay and bought her and that was me. She decided to call me Willow Phoebe, and eagerly awaited my arrival. Here are some pics of me when I was on ebay, check out all the different eye colours I can have.
And here are the pics of my day of arrival at the Kneller household.
Mummy loved my cool parcel wrapping and Hong Kong stamps.
Mummy spent the days waiting for my arrival researching and making things for me. Here are a couple of hats she crocheted in anticipation of my arrival, they fit me perfectly!
I love the purple with my green eyes.
And my adorable blue hat with the flower and button embellishments :)
Crochet has been a huge learning curve for my mummy but she says she has loved learning to make things for me :)

Wondering why Mummy calls me willful Willow? Well since I arrived in my new home I have been soooo demanding. Firstly I insisted that I was far too "cutesy" looking and after looking at other customised Blythes on the internet I decided that I needed dreadlocks. Mummy explained to me that there was no going back and that once my hair was in dreads there it would stay...but I insisted! So Mummy researched dreads and after a little trial and error here I am!
Fyi this is what I looked like before dreads:
and here are my after dreads pics...
Mummy tried to make them look as nappy and realistic as she could, which even meant melting my hair a little!
So I was happy for a little while and then today I decided that I wanted my nose pierced! Mummy sighed and said "what next?? a tatoo??" I just smiled. Anyhow she helped me choose a gorgeous blue stud and I think it matches my blue eyes perfectly!
